The Scattered Figures of our Shadow Selves: An AR Illustration Trail
The Scattered Figures of our Shadow Selves: An AR Illustration Trail
Using the city as a canvas, Kerrie Hanna's illustrations will be applied to architecture using augmented reality tools, creating an interactive walkable trail through the city.
Kerrie Hanna is a multi-disciplinary visual artist based in Vault Artist Studios in Belfast. Her work explores the human experience through a distinctive figurative style across illustration, stained glass and street art.
Within Kerrie Hanna's practice she creates highly graphic playful illustrations using pareidolia – envisioning figures, faces and scenes in shapes: clouds, inkblots: and with this project she can apply this technique to amending architecture and bringing her distinctive style to the city.
This project explores how augmented reality can be used to democratise access to art and explore new ways to approach making art in public spaces.

Aims of the Project
This funding allows her to scale her practice and use the city as a canvas by applying artwork to the built environment and making art freely accessible. Asking questions such as ‘How do we see the poetry in our cityscape? How do we create an inclusive cityscape?’
