Incorporating immersive audio into a collaborative project for live art

Using 360 audio software to create a spatialised soundscape

"This funding will allow me to spend time learning the software 360 Walkmix Creator to
create a spatialised soundscape. I will use Sony MDR-MV1 headphones that reproduce sounds in 360 format for better mixing outcomes.
I want to explore the use of immersive audio within a particular setting, so that users can wear headphones and move around a real life 'scene'. As this forms part of a collaboration with an actor, it is important that the users can see and are aware of the physical space
around them and that while wearing the headphones, certain noises will be played throughout the experience that transform their understanding of the space. For example,
they may be situated in a perfectly 'normal' living room but the sound they hear on the headphones could be quite ominous, even threatening. The sound being immersive but also physically separate from the 'scene' is a key component of the work"
