Site-specific audio development

Site-specific audio development

This project aims to help build the skills I need to enhance my creative projects. I'll be attending workshops, courses, and throwing audio paint at an immersive canvas and seeing what sticks.

Having previously developed work for Amplify Festival at Nottingham Playhouse, been Innovate Artists at Lincoln Arts Centre, and creative award nominated podcast, Annis McGee and Harry Smith are developing new skills to create audio site specific performances.

We'll be using this funding to grow our knowledge of creative immersive work, blending audio into site specific environments. The project will follow the attending of workshops, developing of skills, and working towards baking access into our work. The project will see us tangibly develop our skills in sound design, immersive theatre making, and creating work in non performance venues.

We want to create pieces that explore unconventional spaces, letting audiences traverse not just the physical space but the audio ones we will create. We'll be building on our previous work, and creating new pathways to make a proof of concept that can be developed into our practice.

Aims of the Project

During the course of the project, we’ll be aiming to develop our skills and practice to create the foundations of new immersive audio performances.

We’ll be working towards creating work in unconventional spaces, be it churches, old shops, or strange alleyways you pass on your way from home.

We’ll be buying equipment, attending workshops, working with peers and mentors to build our skills in creating immersive work.
