XR Technology in Shakespeare performance
XR Technology in Shakespeare performance
A deep-dive investigation of Extended Reality (XR) technologies and their creative use in Shakespeare production to breakdown barriers for artists and audiences.
An introductory 1 week workshop on XR technologies (VR Virtual Reality, AR Augmented Reality & AI Artificial Intelligence Tech) for Lazarus Theatre Company’s (LTC) core creatives; Gavin Harrington-Odedra (Producer) & Ricky Dukes (Artistic Director), that will be integral to the integration of immersive technologies in our future productions.
This expands on and enhances our mission to engage audiences with Shakespeare in new ways particularly Young People (12-19) and Access Users, by ensuring his works are relevant, exciting & accessible. Making audiences think about, engage and want to go to live performances.
The outcome of this learning week will give us an essential understanding of XR technology.
This will enable us to blend live performance and XR side by side. Significantly adding to the world building of the play, beyond traditional set, lighting and sound elements, in all our future productions.
