Video Podcast Episode #1

Created by Research fellow Dr Tessa Ratuszynska, this video podcast shares collections of interviews with our awarded artists that reflect the research themes emerging from the programme so far.

The podcast brings artists and projects into dialogue with one another in a way that we hope will be engaging and accessible and maybe a little bit immersive. It is for artists, makers and anyone who’s interested in learning more about projects funded through the Immersive Arts programme.

A theatrical performance featuring three performers interacting with a projected historical image of a protest scene. The black-and-white projection covers the entire backdrop and partially overlays the performers, creating a layered visual effect. One performer on the left, dressed in black, holds a microphone. The central performer, kneeling, reaches upward, aligning their silhouette with the image. The performer on the right, in a hoodie and sneakers, raises both arms, merging with the projected figure in a striking visual illusion.

Episode #1

Demand The Impossible || Common/Wealth

In this first interview series, Dr Tessa Ratuszynska spoke to artists whose creative projects included questions of access and inclusion in immersive work. In this episode we hear from Cardiff and Bradford-based theatre company Common/Wealth who discuss their part play, part punk gig, part sensory experience Demand the Impossible, which was performed at the Corn Exchange in Newport in October 2025 and was funded through the Immersive Arts Expand strand.

In this episode there is reference to death in police custody. Please listen with care.
