Exploring spatial audio for games

Exploring spatial audio for games

This project aims to teach us how to ground interactive video game work in a physical space, learning new production processes and gaining knowledge around access. We'll be working with existing equipment to prototype an immersive installation of a currently in-development project.

We want to explore the questions: How can we create work for physical spaces using spatial audio techniques? How can our immersive work be made more accessible when exhibited live?

We'll be working with past collaborators to develop these skills, bringing in spatial audio experience to assist with the work's production. This will involve learning how to use new equipment and tools, adapting our existing workflows, and developing the technical elements of the work to support spatialised staging.

Through access consultancy, we'll integrate accessible practices (e.g. audio description and captioning) into the work as it's developed.
