Clwb

Clwb

Clwb (working title) is a long-term documentary photography project that explores identity, belonging, and transformation in
post-industrial Wales.

Centred around sporting and social clubs in the South Wales Valleys, the project examines how these
spaces once deeply tied to the social fabric of coal and steel communities, continue to function as sites of connection, memory,
and resilience. Through a combination of portraiture, landscape, and sustained community collaboration. Clwb seeks to
visualise the intergenerational relationships that endure within these localities and to question how traces of industrial heritage
continue to shape both personal and collective narratives in contemporary Wales.

Aims of the project

This project explores the immersive experience of sports clubs in South Wales through the use of virtual reality and sound.

Focusing on local environments such as Marching bands, Pigeon racing, and Boxing clubs, the work aims to capture not only how sport looks, but how it feels to be physically present within these spaces.
