Making Worlds
Immersive sound and vision - making new worlds
A key focus will be the role of sound and narrative. My practice often carries strong thematic undercurrents; stories of memory, history, and lived experience -and I want to investigate how audio can heighten the emotional and sensory engagement of the viewer. Narrative within immersive environments offers a new way to guide
interpretation, creating connections between the intimate detail of my 2D imagery and the expanded worlds that surround it. This exploration could lead to innovative hybrid works where etched marks, printed textures, and drawn lines evolve into immersive landscapes that envelop and move with the audience.

Karen Daye-Hutchinson
Karen Daye-Hutchinson is an internationally exhibited artist working across hybrid printmaking, film, and book art. Educated at Manchester University, Belfast School of Art, and Central Saint Martins, her practice draws on both classical print traditions and contemporary experimentation. Her work explores ambiguity, transformation, and the shifting space between beauty and tension. Daye-Hutchinson has exhibited widely across Europe, Asia, North America, and New Zealand. She is a member and trustee of the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers and a member of the Royal Ulster Academy. As an exhibition curator of Prism Print International, she actively supports global dialogue and collaboration among leading contemporary printmakers.
