Sweet Meat

Sweet Meat

We are exploring how to incorporate augmented reality with live performance and sculpture to create immersive story worlds.

Sweet Meat is a multidisciplinary R&D by artistic duo Fallen Bones. Bringing together sculptures of sugar moulded into body parts, live performance and the fairytale narrative, we are interested in conjuring thoughts of homeliness, the female body as commodity, of violence and cannibalism.

With the support of the Immersive Arts Fund, we will discover how we can use augmented reality within this work to help us communicate the dual reality those living with domestic violence often experience, revealing hidden worlds and exposing the secrets society would rather we kept under lock and key.

Aims of the Project

Over the course of the project we will be working with augmented reality for the very first time.

As an artistic duo already working with animation and video design, we are really looking forward to being supported to explore how these skills can be built on to learn the new softwares and technologies that will allow us to explore this new way of communicating with an audience.

We are particularly interested in exploring how augmented reality can work in a live performance setting to create dual realities and simultaneous narratives.
