Going Beyond Sound
This project is designed to broaden the scope and scale of the types of Immersive installations I'm able to create.
I've been making mostly sound installations for the last few years and I'm looking to augment them with more visual and interactive aspects using technologies such as Touch Designer and Arduino. I'm interested expanding the kinds of installations I make, going beyond simply using sound by using creative computer interaction to manipulate objects, materials and space.

Aims of the project
I’m interested in how technology such as Arduino, Raspberry Pi and Touch Designer can be used with physical spaces and materials in the world. My recent work has been leaning into this idea of using objects and spaces against their intended purposes, such as developing sound installations for disused phone boxes.
I will take a similar approach in making this new upgraded installation, seeking out household objects to manipulate in unique spaces. I already have a bit of DIY electronics knowledge although I’m interested in bolstering it with new technologies such as Arduino, Touch Designer and Raspberry Pi.

Cameron Clarke is a sound and multimedia artist from Belfast. His work primarily focuses on creative playful interaction with public spaces through developing site specific sound installations. Cameron is a committed urbanist, usually substituting his studio for a pedestrian tunnel, bridge or bus as a place to make work. His approach to making is rooted in DIY culture with a hands-on approach to using public spaces against their intended purpose. He works in the medium of field recording, A/V installation, sound walks, film and interventionist performance.
His work has been commissioned by the Belfast Imagine Festival, Middlesbrough Sonic Arts Week, Golden Thread Gallery and Sonorities Festival. Cameron is a member of Vault Artists Belfast.
