Aims of the project
This project builds on my ongoing series of contemplative landscape and nature-based films, expanding the work into immersive audiovisual environments. During this project, I will experiment with spatial audio recording techniques — including Ambisonics and binaural sound — to create layered soundscapes that deepen the experience of moving image.
Working in collaboration with audio specialists, I will explore how different playback approaches function in healthcare or community wellbeing contexts. Early developments may be shared in suitable local settings, offering opportunities to reflect on how immersive sound and image can nurture calm, presence, and gentle restoration in recovery spaces.
This period of research and experimentation will shape the future direction of Breathe, developing new possibilities for immersive work across arts, health, and environmental settings.
