This funding will let me explore how spatial recording and mixing can deepen listener immersion and expand the artistic potential of narrative audio. Alongside practical R&D, I’ll critically experience immersive theatre and installations, and meet with practitioners in the field to build skills, inspiration, and networks for future immersive audio storytelling projects.

Nadia Mehdi is an award winning artist, audio documentary producer and radio host living in Sheffield. She regularly makes work for the BBC, and her audio shorts and installation work have been featured at festivals across the world – from Poland to Australia.
