Green Dark 360
Green Dark 360
A research project exploring moonlight landscapes through 360° video and spatial audio, building on my award-winning moonlight photographic and installation work Green Dark.
This project explores moonlight landscapes through animating still images and filming 360° video in the Elan Valley, an International Dark Sky Park in Mid Wales. Spatial audio will also be recorded on location to create a layered sensory experience.

Aims of the project
The animated sequences will draw on a range of techniques I have developed using my own photographic images. The 360° live filming will capture natural moonlight scenes in real-time. These will include landscapes but also potentially people and animals.
This project builds on my award-winning moonlight photographic series Green Dark, as well as my 21-screen video installation using animations of the photographs. It aims to use immersive technology to explore ideas of presence, attention and human connection to nature in the context of the climate crisis.
