Liminalities

Liminalities

Liminalities is series of exploratory geo-tagged animated films which can be viewed in AR.

The animated ‘events’ can be located by using What3words and will feature windswept structures, buildings and hybrid forms.

My intention is to create a series of LIMINALITIES: Windswept structures, buildings and hybrid forms that occupy the space between the real and the imagined world.

Appearing as AR spectres overlaid onto and anchored into the environment, these could eventually form part of a trail of animated events. These geo-located animated events will appear as large as buildings or sometimes intimately sized to occupy a crack in a wall or pavement.

A large, realistic eye is superimposed on a planet-like sphere against a starry black background, blending human and cosmic elements in a surreal composition.
A surreal underwater scene features a mirrored, abstract face with large, textured fins and bubbles floating around, creating a mysterious, whimsical tone.

Aims of the project

The funding will allow me the opportunity to explore the possibilities of working with geo- locating animated events as well as developing basic immersive arts skills and knowledge.

If possible, I would like to utilise What3words addresses to locate the animations.
Essentially, I will be able to initiate geo-tagged animations independently or perhaps find a partner who can help create project outputs into the environment.

I also want to produce more 3D artworks constructed using mixed media and continue printmaking to explore the use of these as triggers for activating easily accessible AR animations.
