Morphogenic Angels: Chapter 2 (Alchemy of Perspectives)

A third-person, open-world adventure game in which a hybrid being shaped by DeafBlind experiences must explore isolation, connection, and transformation to decide whether to evolve into a Morphic Deity or stay rooted in humanity.

Through this strand, Keiken will move from initial R&D into the full production of Morphogenic Angels: Chapter 2 (Alchemy of Perspectives). As worldbuilders, this chapter marks a significant shift in Keiken’s practice: for the first time, they are creating characters grounded in the lived personhood of a specific community. This approach demands deeper experimentation, research, and sensitivity to ensure that both the narrative and gameplay reflect the richness and complexity of that community’s experiences.

Aims of the project

Chapter 2 builds its mechanics around non-verbal communication, placing lived experience at the core of every design decision. By focusing on embodied interaction, they will explore an under-examined potential of technology: fostering social inclusivity through alternative modes of perception and exchange. The game becomes not only a narrative space, but a sensory framework shaped by how people communicate beyond speech.

The fully realised and sensory-rich second chapter of the Morphogenic Angels series will integrate accessible sound design and haptic technology in collaboration with DeafBlind creatives, researchers and technologists. Together, they will develop innovative methods for combining visual body language, auditory cues, and interactive programming, setting new benchmarks for inclusive and accessible game development.
