Jazz Maze VR

Jazz Maze VR

An immersive sound experiment exploring how live jazz improvisation, spatial audio and interactive environments can reshape the way audiences experience music. This project investigates how listeners can move through sound rather than simply observe it.

Rooted in Marcus Joseph’s practice as a saxophonist and spoken-word artist, the work asks how jazz, a music built on interaction and spontaneity, can evolve within digital and immersive spaces. Rather than performing on a traditional stage, sound becomes an environment that audiences can explore.

Aims of the Project

Through this activity, Marcus will experiment with spatial audio, immersive listening and interactive concepts that allow audiences to experience jazz in new ways.

The research will help develop ideas for future immersive performances, installations and virtual environments where music, movement and storytelling intersect.
