Intelligent Holograms - Performance & Community

Involving research into the development of immersive holographic intelligence in regard to the performing arts (especially dance|music), and its possible significance to the wider community and various modes of audience perception [i.e. how observers can actively shape their environments through immersive technologies that are truly responsive at a cellular level of interaction].

This would include the possibilities of performative interaction between the (limited) physicality of the human body [a ballerina in this case] and the [seemingly unlimited] virtual physicality|autonomy of a so-called intelligent holographic construct trained on that same body. Investigate what kinds of hologram technology already exists within this context and how can they be applied and developed.

Research into the development of immersive holographic intelligence in regard to the performing arts, and its possible significance to the wider community.

Aims of the project

The activity will involve preliminary research into the development of immersive holographic intelligence in regard to the performing arts (especially dance | music), and its possible significance to the wider community and various modes of audience perception (i.e. how observers can actively shape their environments through immersive technologies that are truly responsive at a cellular level of interaction).

This would include the possibilities of performative interaction between the (limited) physicality of the human body (a ballerina in this case) and the (seemingly unlimited) virtual physicality | autonomy of a so-called intelligent holographic construct trained on that same body.

This would include investigation into what kinds of hologram technology already exists within this context and how can they be applied and developed, and testing out some practical ideas in regard to new hologramatic technology concerning matters of intelligence|machine learning and haptic perception.

Hopefully, this would include taking the first steps in constructing an artificial intelligence engine based upon the specific movements of a dancer’s body and a specific set of electronically generated sounds, and an exploration of the immersive possibilities in regard to the ways in which an audience can interact or experience this human | hologramatic environment (i.e.what benefits can this have, outside of a performative one, and how can this be measured?).
